The 2017-2018 NDDC Home, Finishing Skills Acquisition Programme, is a based skilled craftsmen and craftsmanship in finishing of construction projects most especially homes and offices in Nigeria. The 2017 NDDC Home Finishing training programme is planned to last four weeks, with student/participants attending other development activities.

The programme is scheduled to commence on 10th January 2018 to 10th February, 2018, is a four weeks programme.

2017/2018 NDDC Home Finishing Skills Acquisition Programme application form are available via online for youths in Niger Delta region both women in the area between 18 to 35 years. The beneficiating state includes Abia States, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa, Ondo, Delta, Imo and Cross River.

2017-2018 NDDC Home Finishing Skills Acquisition Programme Aim and Objective

  1. The skill acquisitions aim to provide an opportunity for young people and artisans to develop improved work skills and knowledge (up-skilling).
  2. To enable a participant to significantly improve their chances of gaining long-term employment and sustainable business opportunities in their chosen craft.

Participants will be trained on:

  • O. P Ceiling Installation
    Floor Tiling
    Electrical Wiring

The programme will be as well delivered in-country by ESI International Skills Partnership Exchange Programme qualified trades tradesmen-women, and it has been developed by and is the copyright of ESI. It will also be based on the requirements taken from relevant UK occupational standard and associated qualifications which will be contextualized to meet the requirements in Nigeria. it will be held in Owerri Imo State at Federal Polytechnic Nekede

Requirements/Educational Qualification for NDDC Home Finishing Skills Acquisition Programme

  • School Cert, City & Guilds or above in relevant crafts
  • Hands-on knowledge of and experience in specific trade/skill is required
    Only practicing tradesmen and women will be considered
    Applicants who have no working experience in above-stated skill areas need not apply
    Applicant’s must hail from the Niger Delta Region
    Applicant’s between 18 -35 age limit are required
    One recent passport
    Applicant’s certificate of state of origin
